Who are we?

TransFS was started by small business owners who wasted significant time and money with sub-par financial services providers. Having identified the problem from our own experiences, we asked other small business owners if they had the same problem. It turned out that they did, so we created TransFS to solve this problem.

Sean Harper, CEO and Co-Founder Prior to starting TransFS, Sean worked as a venture capitalist at Longworth Venture Partners and William Blair Capital Partners and as a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Sean holds an A.B. in economics from the University of Chicago, where he also studied computer science. You can learn more about Sean on Twitter.

Joshua Krall, CTO and Co-Founder Prior to starting TransFS, Josh co-founded Ascent Technologies, a Los-Angeles based creator of custom electronics for the entertainment industry. Prior to Ascent, Josh was a technical director for two digital production studios in the film industry, Digital Domain and Rhythm and Hues. Josh holds a BS in Computer Science and BFA in Drama, Design and Production from Carnegie Mellon University. In addition to frequent contributions to the TransFS Blog, Josh runs the TransFS Development Blog where he writes about web technologies and ruby on rails.

What is Transparent Financial Services?

TransFS is an online comparison shopping business for small business financial services. Think of us as an Orbitz or Travelocity, but rather than helping people compare and purchase airplane tickets, we help small businesses compare and purchase financial services (such as payroll processing, credit card processing and business loans).
